Challenge #3: Guess Who's Coming to Dinner

In your own space, tell us who, from one of your fandoms, would you most want to have dinner with (or tea, or a random afternoon visit), And why? This could be a creator, an actor, a costumer, a set designer, a director, a character, a composer, anybody! What would you talk about? What are you dying to know? I found myself thinking about this for a bit after it was revealed, even as I was reading it. My first thought was that I would read it as characters I wanted to hang out with, and realized that in my recent fandoms there aren't a lot that I wanted that. Not that I would mind if I could meet them; Chidi from The Good Place for example, I could get FroYo with him sometime.

Then my mind went back to old favorites, and I found myself debating which characters from Babylon 5 I'd want to have lunch with, and I had a pretty hard time deciding that. I kind of want to (per my icon) talk with Sheridan about politics and how we make things better; I just want to hang with Ivanova; I want to turn to Delenn for life advice because I think she'd be a really good person to turn to; I might get a bit lost with G'Kar (late G'Kar), but I sure wouldn't miss the opportunity to hear more of his thoughts; I think Vir and I could have a really chill time.

But then I realize I could go with a real person and that the absolute dream is meeting JMS; he's basically been my idol since I was 12 and having the chance to sit down with the man himself for a while would be amazing. And it would have to be a while because I'd be too nervous to talk, and then I'd just be squeeing for a while. But it would be amazing for 13 year old me, 20 year old me, 30 year old me, and now me. I've loved Babylon 5 for 2/3 or my life and it would be wonderful to meet the man who created and basically penned it, and gave me so many ideas that shaped who I am.

So I got hit with my semi-annual knock out cold last week so I’m only posting this now, but here’s part 1 of analyzing some behind the scenes factors of B5 season 1.

So we’ve reached the end of the season, and appropriately I started writing this on New Year’s, yes I’m getting slower it seems, but we’re here now.

So let me finally post another one of these, and it’s another episode of semi-controversial placement that I would rather watch in DVD order; but at least this one I like.

So I’ve been on vacation for the past week so as you can see I didn’t post anything, I did get a couple of reviews done so maybe I can stave off another large gap for a while. Last time we covered TKO, an episode I do not care for; now we have Grail, another episode I don’t particularly care for.

By Valen that last review seemed to take forever to get through. Let’s see if I can be a little more focused on this one. Seems like a good episode to refocus on...which I only kind of did as this one should have been up a few days ago.
