Since I don’t really know if anyone is still even reading the thoughts I put out there, I have developed a habit of writing up my thoughts and sitting on them for a few days before I actually post them. So I wrote this up a couple days ago after the Spiderman drama started up, and some of it might already not apply, but I might as well throw it out there.

Just a few Marvel/MCU thoughts, partly brought by the Spiderman stuff going on, and partly stuff I’ve been thinking on for a bit.

So I’ve been known to buy movies out of the cheap bin at Walmart and then forget to put them away for a while, which means today I finally realized that the last two movies I bought are kind of ironic.

I sort of feel like this range of interests says a lot about how little I care about messaging in my entertainment.

You know, at present I don’t have a lot of shows I’m planning to watch this fall. Aside from The Good Place, and I assume Crazy Ex-Girlfriend is a fall show again...I guess we’ll see what my mood is on Jane the Virgin since I usually don’t prefer watching that week to week, but last season did end on a pretty big cliffhanger and I may not be watching a lot else.

I do have a few down the line. Even after my very underwhelmed feelings for s5, AoS probably would be but it’s not back until next summer. And The Orville isn’t back until mid-season (I did watch s1 over the summer, and I really like it, I may decide to stick with marathon viewing though).

I still haven’t felt inclined to catch up on Supergirl or Flash and I find I really don’t miss either show. Someone posted a scene to a deleted LoT scene that I kind of love, but also just reminded me how I’m super pissed off at the show and still can’t see myself going back. Arrow is a maybe, though. Since I’ve got positive feelings for at most one in four shows, I really can’t get any hype feeling for Batwoman especially since I kind of hate all things Batman related 90% of the time (I sat here trying to think of an exception, and finally remembered I like Lego Batman).

Well, if nothing presents itself as important viewing by the time the baseball season is wrapped up (go, Rockies), it’ll give me more time to get back to my various project ideas for tori_reviews, of which I have a few ideas.

Also, if anyone is still hanging around here, I've been writing a lot of Agents of SHIELD fic and if anyone wanted to...I'm not even sure how much of it is at beta reading level, but I if someone was willing to beta read I'd be more likely to get it to that level.

So apparently the last episode of The Vampire Diaries aired last night. I haven’t watched the show in almost three years and yet knowing it’s over makes me feel all nostalgic for it. Like I kind of want to watch it again at this point, but my thought process goes something like this:

-So I could settle in and watch the last three seasons, maybe catch up on The Originals while I’m at it. I seem to recall I had high hopes for that show.
-But I’ve forgotten like everything about the show aside from what my general opinions were. Especially the last season or so before I walked away.
-And I’d miss all the good Elena/Elijah stuff I used to like so much if I just watch the later seasons.
-But if I watch from the beginning I have to watch season 4 again.
...(‘Nam style flashbacks)...
-I remember why I walked away from this show.

So I’m probably not doing any of this.

So I decided to watch Robin Hood again, and because I’m feeling super lazy about it, opted to watch it on Netflix instead of getting out the DVDs. Now I’ve noticed watching a few other things on Netflix the last few months that they don’t always have captions I know should be there, but I think this might be the funniest one. Because they still have the sound effect of the thwacky establishing arrow, but not the location caption. So while *I* know what that sound effect is and in most cases understand what’s being established, I imagine it must seem odd if someone hasn’t watched it before.

Also, the fact that one of Netflix’s teaser images is a s3 promo shot including Kate and Tuck...not a great move, as I hate both of them.

So here’s the deal-io, tomorrow NaNoWriMo starts up again and November is shaping up to be a busy month all around. So, I will post this week’s TV round-up since I’ve been working on it, and maybe I’ll finally post another B5 review since I for some reason have been putting it off (or various small reasons), but there may not be much non-NaNo babble for a while after that.

At least until I concede defeat on NaNo a week or two in, which is what usually happens. I have high hopes for this year, but I don’t know that that means a whole lot. I’ve also been so writer’s blocked for the last couple months I don’t even know why I’m hopeful.

Also Happy Halloween all, not that mine is going to be terribly exciting, maybe I’ll eat more candy than usual while I watch baseball or something.

(Dear god, is it my imagination or has the lj post window gotten even worse? They need to stop "updating" things, I hated the last change, certainly didn't want it to change again (unless it was back to the old style)).

So in the last few weeks I’ve gotten a string of some anonymous comments on TTESIT apparently from a rec (or more than one) of the story or the series on tumblr. And while I love the feedback, and it’s been a boost to getting the muses thinking seriously again each time (especially this last one, since my muses do feel like they’ve finally accounted for most of the characters going in to the next installment), I keep wondering about the rec(s) that got people there.

Obviously getting feedback is better than not, and I can definitely enjoy that, but there are people out there reccing my story and I don’t know what they’re saying to get people interested. I have no idea how to find it out and it...doesn’t bother me exactly (aside from being a symptom of the dying status of lj in favor of tumblr) but it kind of does just a little.

Still haven’t gone back and watched Wednesday’s shows, they may have to wait until baseball is done, sandwiched between the big nights on Tuesday and Thursday. Or maybe I’ll get to them before the next episodes and then keep up, there’s always a chance of that.

Writing update
At less than a week until the drabble challenge is over, I’m at 9 left to write, so I’m in okay shape though I suspect a few will be last minute jobs.
