So my goal to have reread ASOIAF 1-4 before Dance With Dragons comes out has not worked. Even though it looks like mine is still a couple days away I’m not even through rereading GoT yet. That’s several thousand words left before I’ve reread everything PLUS the thousand or so of the next book. So basically I think I’ll finish GoT and just go on memory for the rest (which I know is spotty because there’s a lot to keep track of) because once I have Dance in my hands I’m not going to be able to resist it (actually I *may* be able to keep my hands off it for a few days but I can’t swear to it).

It may be interesting to try and document my thoughts as I read but I’m not going to commit to it. I’m as unlikely to do it if I say I will as if I say nothing, which is a poorly constructed sentence that I don’t feel like editing.

What I can give you though is some babble about my predictions/hopes for the series.

Okay, so back from the family, as expected once I managed to get myself into a more Christmasy mode I was more into it. Had a decent time, ate too much, got some gifts and laughs.

Now have 'The Writer's Tale' S4 of Doctor Who on DVD (don't have S3 actually, still can't quite justify it, but one day I'm sure I'll find a decent deal and I'll complete the set), as well as my own copies of the 'Song of Ice and Fire' books so next time I read them I won't have to use the library. Also, more people on my f-list should read them so I have some of you guys to talk about it with. Plus a bit of money to spend for the first time in a while so also plus.

Also, got *lots* of half formed vid ideas from hours of iPod listening in the car.

When I got home I had a letter informing me of a preliminary test on the 2nd for the job I recently applied for, so looks like I probably won't go out of town for New Years' (am going to a party on the 3rd though and that'll be good enough).

I've watched 'The Next Doctor' but I'm still processing it. Have some thoughts that I'll try to collect a bit later.

Haven't really even begun to catch up on my f-list, I'll try but if anyone wants to point out something specific I might have missed that's good too.
