Since my next post will be my 500th lj post I've been trying to think of something special to do for it, having not come up with anything great I'm going to do the following:

Name me a fandom/character/ship/hobby that I'm interested it and in the big 500th post I'll talk about why I'm interested in them.

Side note: NaNoWriMo, not quite 10,000 words yet so as of yesterday I ended up just a shade over two days behind. Not insurmountable but not great.

Well, I didn't really expect to be on par for today, in fact I expect to be behind for a while, between baseball and bigbanghood still taking time, NaNo...can wait. However accomplishments for the day include

-Having set my mind to it after Nov. technically started it counts, that before I wrote word one I completely scrapped my initial idea for a new one and was thinking about it as I was falling asleep last night.

-Defining character names and ages for the first section of the story.

-Deciding to keep a yWriter file for this and figuring out how that works (more or less) Note for anyone interested, it seems like an awesome program, but one problem is it doesn't have an in line spell/grammar check. Now if you're being literal with NaNo rules that maybe that's okay but for me it's not like typos take that long to fix as I'm going and I'd really like to not discover them randomly later. Although on the flip side not have to look at word underlining basically every single character name might be a plus.

-~300 words of BBH fic plus BBH chat this afternoon

-Discovering that starting your main character off doing futuristic skydiving is a good way to get the excitement going for the story.

-1,135 NaNo words, which isn't to be sneezed at. Not great, not on par, but not bad.

You know, after several days of not being able to get the creative juices to kick in much or any, today they're in overdrive. However I'm realizing that getting the creative juices flowing in general also leads to me getting fanfic ideas which isn't what I'm writing. Plus there's no room for porn since all of my main characters are siblings (so far, maybe one day I'll introduce a love interest).

I'm so far behind now that I stand very little chance that I'll get it all in this month (even with a lot of writing today I'm currently ~5k words behind), but a few more days like today and focusing on this writing and I might start to have hope again that I can pull it off.

So, three days in, less than 5000 words, one "chapter" finished and...I'm already feeling stuck. And it's not like anything big happened in the first chapter either, maybe the last big I guess.

This is always my problem, getting from point A to point B, I have many ideas for what could happen but my mind can't work it's way around how to get there. I was already planning random teleport action, maybe I'll find some magic way to pull it forward. I've never done NaNo before this, how much sense should it make?

This is what I get for not telling a story I'd already played out when I get inspired by roleplaying games I guess.
