So a few of my shows are back, and I have early thoughts.
Downton Abbey:
Well done as always, but nothing particularly special about what’s happened so far.
Saving Hope:
It seems like the show is finally making some movement on the bigger plot at work here, but I don’t know if it’ll pay off. It’s had good episodes so far at least.
Agents of SHIELD:
I wouldn’t be entirely surprised if down the road I decided this show was better watched in blocks instead of week to week, but for now I like it too much to put it on hold. Ep 2 was definitely better than the first, except that the first one started off amazingly; bring on Agent Carter.
Once Upon a Time:
Why does this show manage to stay n week to week watching? I knew at the end of last season I was going to hate them using Frozen so explicitly instead of rethinking it for how it could fit in this world. As is, it feels like we’re supposed to see this as a sequel to the movie instead of a different telling of it, and I don’t like that. Also, I still have no sympathy for Regina in all this, she deserves to face some actual damn consequences for what she’s done.
Castle:
This episode was awesome, and made me go “Oh Kate” about a hundred times, because damn that was rough. And if this could actually turn into a season long mystery I’d be ecstatic, because that’s what I’ve always this show to be and I really don’t right now see how that show shifts back into the old style without really dealing with what happened.
Also I did watch the first season (half season) of Outlander and...it was good I guess, I wanted to love it, but I didn’t and so that makes me a little unsure how to grade it. I’ll probably keep watching it when it eventually comes back, or I may rewatch Life on Mars which I do love.
In addition: GO ROYALS, I’m rooting for you guys even more after last night.
