jedi_of_urthSo we're back from seeing family now so I need to get caught up on lj (I had things I wanted to respond to before I left but didn't get to, now it's a bit late but I might still do it).
While it was an okay time, we *did* have quite a bit of fun, but things also kind of suck.
1) no one loved Christmas more than my Grandma Ruth, who died back in August, so this is the time of year I think I'll miss her the most.
2) Between that and my cousin's wedding next month we didn't visit that side of the family this year, which was kind of weird too.
3) My mom's side of the family, the one we did visit, has had a pretty rough year. So underneath all the fun we had there was a lot of...mess.
4) My great-uncle (brother of the grandma who died) died on Christmas Eve. I barely knew him, and I know he also lived a good long life, but it's not helping the amount of suck/mess we had going on.
5) I'm just peopled out. I've had far more social contact than usual and now that I'm home I want to hermit up.
6) But I have a friend who's only on Denver for a couple more days that I do want to go see while she's around. And if I wasn't doing that I'd probably be pressed into going to the funeral (my parents are going back, my sister and I have places to go and people to see); either way not much hermitting allowed.
I'm not saying it was a bad trip just...draining and I'm only starting to realize how much it took out of me I suspect.
So anyway, hope you all had a good holiday (whatever version of it you may or may not embrace).
