So, after an impromptu bit of Christmas decorating with my parents I thought tonight’s attempt at fandom action ought to be something actually Christmasy. And lacking time, inclination, and inspiration to write impromptu Christmas fic at the moment, I’m putting it in a different form. So even though last night’s attempt at meme-ing it up didn’t go anywhere, I’m doing another one tonight.
Name me a fandom and I’ll discuss how I think the characters celebrate the holidays.
(Although to be fair I was almost tempted to try my hand at OUaT fic because the Charming family at Christmas is just too beyond fluffy for words. But I’m not sure I’m comfortable having my first attempt at writing it being in this circumstance.)

Date: 2012-12-04 07:15 pm (UTC)Back in the 1800s human Stefan and Damon grew up with pretty involved Christmases too, but Stefan long ago got to a point where it only made him feel emo and Damon acts like he doesn't enjoy it except for the parties and long late nights providing good access to fresh blood, but secretly they both still wish they could experience it like they did as kids still.
Caroline does go all out, loves decorating and gift giving but kind of forgets to actually enjoy the holiday outside of that.
Bonnie just kind of rolls with it, she's surrounded by people who make a big deal out of it so she gets plenty of that, but mostly she and her family just quietly enjoy the holiday.
The Originals have complicated relationships with the holiday; they have no emotional connection to it but sometimes they really like to act like it's a big deal to them.
