WHAT THE BLOODY HELL!!!!!!!!!

Doctor Who 4x12 reaction post, no doubt LOTS of CAPSLOCK keyboard mashing.
You know, I'm sure I had lots of great things to say for 95% of the episode but the last few minutes...sdjkcbgiusbvgi.
I mean, for all the awesome of companion-palooza, and Wilf with a paint ball gun, and Rose saying Donna's family, and Torchwood going down fighting, and OH MY GODS HARRIET JONES!!!!!!! What holds any weight after that ending.
Thing is this episode is so full of awesome and yet it didn't actually include any of the things I wanted, no Rose-(Harriet-Martha-Donna-Jack) interaction, no real Rose-anyone but Donna's family interaction including a real Rose-Jack reunion which I'm nearly dying for at this point.
And look, not that the running towards each other reunion wasn't great, but could we please get a little more? I wanted the Doctor either finishing the damn sentence or perhaps a "Kiss before I change" at the end if RTD felt he absolutely *had* to do that to me.
I can't remember for sure, but didn't the Doctor mention regeneration to Donna at some point, or am I getting my wires crossed? Not that that necessarily means she'd think of it at the moment when everything was going to hell, just asking.
Um...good things causing less flail...
Harriet never repented for TCI, good for her, I always thought she did the right thing too.
Jack flirting with Sarah Jane, not quite as good as them having a past, but at least there was flirting. And slightly with Luke even, that's my Jack (even if it should be oh so wrong). And definitely Donna's reaction to Jack was priceless.
The Doctor's first reaction when someone cuts into his signal being "Rose, Rose are you there?" made me both wibble and squee. I kind of wish we'd gotten Jack-Martha-Sarah Jane's reaction to him looking for Rose, but it wasn't strictly necessary.
Is that Jack's big gun from PotW? I'm not sure and not yet ready to go look again, but it looked at lot like it.
(back to flail) Con, said he saw permanent death for the Doctor' most faithful companion, I fear for Rose, unless this is a repeat of Doomsday death, but even so I still worry if it is.
I am glad Martha most wanted to go home, that fit nicely with her characterization.
Wilf with a paintball gun must be mentioned again, it didn't cause flail at least.
Most Rose things cause too much flail to deal with right now.

Date: 2008-06-28 11:43 pm (UTC)Harriet was fantastic, wasn’t she? I hate that she’s dead, but at the same time, I’m so proud of her. I’m glad that they brought her back (and sent her off) as a hero. In my mind, she always was one—and that includes “The Christmas Invasion.”
(I’m trying to focus on the good things, ’cause if I don’t, I’m going to start crying.)

*sigh* When did you say the B5 rewatch starts?

Date: 2008-06-29 12:18 am (UTC)B5 rewatch starts up next weekend, it'll give me something to do while waiting for the DW finale (since no one voted to postpone starting for DW).

I'm guessing Doomsday-type "death." Or something funky. I refuse to believe that they'd kill anyone off.

Date: 2008-06-30 01:07 am (UTC)I had a thought that Jack no longer being immortal could be what Caan saw as permanent death, he will eventually have it at that point.

Agree with all your list of good things! :D Harriet = win, especially.
