To continue the five questions meme. I'm still willing to keep this going.

1. What's your favorite book and why?

“Ender’s Game” because...no specific reason, I just really like it. I think I’ve developed some ideological issues with Card through reading more of his stuff, but I set that aside every time I feel like rereading “Ender’s Game.”

2. What's the most interesting job you've ever had?

Well, I’ve had very few jobs and none of them all that interesting. I worked as a call center one summer a few years back which was a different experience for me as I hate talking on the phone and was also kind of annoyed because I had known other people who worked there and they said it wasn’t all that active, but for some reason the phones were really busy that summer.

3. Do you have any hobbies? Like what?

Well, I make fanvids you know, that’s a hobby. I sometimes write fanfic. I also read and watch TV.

4. Is there something you really want to do/accomplish within the next year?

Get a job, I’d really like to find something in my career field, but right now I almost need to just get *a* job, but…I don’t know how to deal with it.

5. What was the last movie you saw in the theater and would you recommend it?

“Atonement.” It’s pretty good and I’d recommend seeing it yeah, Just...don’t expect to feel happy at the end.

1. Do you think the perceived craziness of the HP Fandom is/was justified?

Yeah, I was just on the fringes of HP fandom and I thought it seemed crazy, I can’t imagine what it was like for people really into the fandom. I have no idea what it was like by the time Book 7 rolled around as I got out even of the fringes at least a year earlier, but I fully expect it was still crazy.

2. Just because I'd like to know. What do you feel is the "worst" of Babylon 5 five seasons and could give a little detail about why?

Well, obviously “bad” isn’t a word I would really apply to B5, but as far as “least awesome,” even that’s a toss up.

I think season 1 was the “weakest” in many ways, coming from the fact that it needed to set all the things/people/plots/universe in motion to get the later awesomeness. It’s more uneven and a bit more...traditional in places. It’s understandable for a beginning, but it isn’t as good as the later seasons.

Season 5 however, while in many ways “stronger” than season 1, felt a little…let down. I’m not sure it’s worse or better that I kind of know why it happened (JMS pulling a fair bit of material back into S4 so that he could be sure to round things out in case there wasn’t S5) but things definitely felt different in S5 and not so much for the better. At least the first half or so of the season, the second half got back on track.

3. Do you think that series should have a set end point or should they just keep going as long as they can?

I think it sort of depends on the show. Most family dramas say, can be kept going for a while because new plots can be introduced, but if a show has a central plot/mystery/setting that once that’s resolved the story is over I think TPTB need to know (certainly) how and (basically) when it’s going to be. Don’t drag out the plot so long that it’s stupid that it hasn’t been yet, or keep introducing new out of the blue twists just to keep it going.

4. Are there any common factors in the canon ships you support?

Most of my ships are friends first ships. Or...the “partnership-ships” is maybe a better way to put it. Whether canon or not, I tend to be drawn to pairings that can stand the test of anything and can rely on each other for everything.
There’s the occasional exception, but by and large that’s what draws me.

5. What sort of stories do you find yourself gravitating most too?

You know...I really like epics. I like large sweeping grand stories that are great adventures or ongoing tales. Stories that go on long enough to see lots of character growth and in lots of different situations, but moving along meaningful, logical, paths for character and plot.

So, with lots of nonsensical attempts at explanation, there you have it.

Anyone else? Got/want questions?
