Sound of Drums, pic-recap Part 3

Apparently I had a *lot* of thoughts on this episode and there were a lot of pictures to go with it, continuing with part 3. Maybe I would have paced the parts better if I'd realized how much I would keep adding as I went along.
Warning: vast overuse of the word adorable, I guess I liked the word this week.
39. Finally the Doctor finds out about Jack and Torchwood. I want more damn it, because that’s huge in my mind. He looks pretty grossed out at the news.

But he still *looks* at Jack while he’s grossed out,

which is like so much worse, though so much more meaningful, than Martha’s not being seen.
40. And Jack can’t look at him.

Until he gets to the “I did it for you” part (why no Rose mention here? WHY?).

Also, no one tells Martha *why* the Doctor is so pissed off about Torchwood as far as I can tell, although Canary Wharf is referenced. But the Doctor decides he can live with it for now at least.

41. I find it absolutely adorable that Jack still has his TARDIS key, not that I’m surprised, but I still love him for it.

42. “It’s like when you fancy someone and they don’t even know you exist.”

I laughed, I did, because I have no sympathy for Martha’s crush at all; I don’t care if he was oblivious or being rude, it was funny.

“You too, huh?”

Ah Jack, you I feel for, because I know you loved them both but they loved each other so much that they would dance around right in front of you, and you could flirt with them both as much as you wanted and they would flirt back, and you all loved in your world of three, but their hearts belonged to each other. He sees you Jack, just not like that. The Doctor will never love either Jack or Martha the way he loves Rose, difference is Jack gets it. Martha tries to look sad, but utterly fails to gain my sympathy.

43. Oh the world of Doctor Who where there’s UNIT and protocols for alien contact and evil childish Prime Ministers are absolutely adorable.

44. Is the Master being all Time Lord knowledge guy with his “The last president of America” comment (like “Harriet Jones future Prime Minister”) or is it just about the coming end of the world?

Also, the Master and Lucy look really hot and Doctor/Rose like here.
45. Come on, did the Doctor honestly think the perception filter would work on the Master? I know it isn’t revealed until later, but I thought it on the runway because he totally saw them, I thought it was obvious.
46. Such coat porn this episode, everyone has big billowing coats it seems.

I love the big billowing coats in this show, good for running scenes. Like this one.

47. I guess now that Jack has come clean about the Torchwood thing he really wants to go back into Torchwood mode of killing people, even if Saxon is so adorable when he’s taunting the Jones’.

48. And the Doctor hasn’t forgotten that he hates Torchwood and wishes Jack wasn’t part of it, it’s pretty obvious he doesn’t like it one bit that Jack is like that now.

49. Sky ship is cool, but still…why? And how? And huh? I could try and justify it by saying it’s UNIT and Saxon helped but…I still can’t quite accept it. Either this is a story world where these things exist in which case it should be at least some what known, or it’s paralleling our real world in which case if you’re going to have secret government bases like this they should be better covered up than a giant sky ship.
50. NOOOOO!!! Don’t hurt the TARDIS.

Also, Jack is totally the one (as compared to Martha not the Doctor) who gets how *bad* this is, how *wrong* even before it gets to the paradox machine understanding.

You *don’t* hurt the TARDIS, just don’t. She’s all the Doctor has left.
51. Jelly-babies? Really?

That’s a bit nail on the head of them, since even I know that jelly-babies are entrenched in Doctor Who lore. And I know I read somewhere once that the show runners didn’t want scripts that referenced jelly-babies because it was just a shout out to old school and didn’t really add much; and I’m not sure they needed another “The Master is the Doctor only evil” anvil. (“You took my old love of jelly-babies and my new love of blonds, you bastard!”)
52. The Master and Lucy are so the evil Doctor and Rose (and we'll keep bringing that up I guess). I really hope their relationship is a strong as it looks because it lends a lot to the Master’s character and Lucy is adorable. Both of them make evil seem adorable.
53. Seriously Doctor, did you really think the perception filter would work on the Master?

Also, you had to wait until you were in the main room before passing the plan along to your companions? Honestly, I expect better of you. At least pay attention to the smirking, I know he does it a lot, but he could be smirking at you if you don't pay attention.
54. Why do I find in adorable that they also welcome the Toclafame to Earth’s associated moon? I just do.
Well, we'll see if I can get part four done tonight, I think all my remaining comments will be okay for only one more post unless I wind up with lots of pictures.
