It occurs to me that I haven't posted anything in like a month, so how about a quick run down of things I've been watching...

Well I did watch The Flash, it wasn’t hard to catch up on it since it’s only nine episodes in. I had thoughts on it but I never got around to posting them. Short version; it’s okay, it’s still finding its footing but it has potential. It’s also got some pitfalls I see that I’m not sure how it will end up navigating, but I’m willing to keep watching and see what happens. I also think the crossover episodes may be the weakest ones of the season, so they may want to do something about that if they want to draw more Arrow viewers over to them. On the whole I don’t know if it’s appointment TV* but I doubt I’ll fall more than a couple episodes behind for a while.

(at this point, that means ‘watch within a day or two of release'

Then I watched Jane the Virgin. It’s cheesy, it’s not good, but I kept watching it anyway. It’s a soap opera, it knows it’s a soap opera, telenovelas are an important part of the story, so as long as you accept it for what it is, it’s fun. It’s stupid but fun, and I have a history with stupid but fun shows so I’m not judging this for being one of them. In spite of all that, it’s probably, if not appointment TV, pretty close to it.

I also rewatched the first couple seasons of Arrow, and again I had thoughts, but I didn’t even do a great job writing them up. I have ended up with some wild speculation about what happens next in season 3, that we’ll start seeing soon if I’m anywhere near right about.

I still say this season of Downton Abbey feels really like an ending. I kept expecting a twist in the Christmas special to set up for another season (since it looks like there’s going to be one) but it just kept feeling more and more finale like. So who knows.

We finally got the ending of Miranda after such a long wait. It was mostly satisfying if a little rushed (this feels like about a season raced through in two episodes). Then I rewatched the series (it didn’t take long after all) and I enjoyed it again, though it struck me that I have no idea what the time frame is supposed to be. And while the ending ends up feeling rushed, it’s also very lean without any circling around the point, to tell on basic story; so I think I end up approving.

I’m now watching Galavant and Agent Carter and really liking both of them. Along with Castle and Parks and Rec already being back with more things start coming back this week (CW shows mostly it looks like). It also looks like Saving Hope is just going to continue on instead of breaking the season up this time around.

For those keeping track, yes this means I did not in fact catch up on TVD, TO, or Revenge.

(And damn I never wrote up my thoughts on Korra after the finale. I was too happy with the ending to go back and voice my various criticisms of the show I guess.)
