Writing update and a meme

1) I have a couple tiny brush-ups to do on my SFBB story but I'm all set to post it on Friday. I'm going to try and have the posts up but private early and then just public them and post the master post on Friday so it may or may not gum p your f-list. But for those interested there will be Elena/Elijah fun times. In case you haven't read the fic series and want to before the next part comes out series post is over here

2) My 100 drabbles of summer...is progressing but not as well as I'd like, several of the prompts just aren't connecting with me and m muses don't seem to have enough ideas. So more than a third of the way through the writing time I'm barely a quarter done, I want to do better but I can't seem to find the drabbling muses.

3) What I NEED to do is figure out what I'm doing for B5 love month. I have a vid I want to finish, but none of my muses are really in a mood to do stuff it seems. They may be getting the drabbles from 100 drabbles that are B5 related.

4) And finally a meme, because I like memes and haven't done enough of them lately.

Capt. Jack Harkness

- Why I love them or why I wish they'd go die in a fire.

I have a someone complicated relationship with Jack. I mostly like Jack, because he's a lot of fun and a good addition to DW; but it makes me less fond of serious Jack on TW largely because it not how I see the character combined with how it took so long for them to answer why TW Jack was so different from DW-Jack, and then turn around and write him pretty much as fun Jack when he goes back to DW; basically I like Jack but think he needs better writing.

- My OTP for the character

I'm never even sure its right to OTP Jack with anyone, he's kind of made for multishipping. But I like Jack/Ianto well enough, enjoy a side of Jack/Donna or Jack/Tosh, and never object to the ol' bit of OT3 with Doctor/Rose/Jack

- My favorite gen relationship with this character.

I like Jack-Gwen as long as it's platonic. as a subset of Jack-Team; but I pretty much do prefer Jack-Doctor/Rose the three of them out seeing the universe.

- An unpopular opinion about this character.

I have a hard time reading fanfic about Jack because fanfic world being what it is, people are inclined to write Jack as simply gay rather than bi/omni/pan-sexual (whatever term we feel like using now). But that's kind of an issue I have with broader fandom than entirely an unpopular Jack opinion.

- One thing I wish would [have] happen[ed] with this character in canon.

I wish TW had done a better job remembering that Jack loved both the Doctor and Rose. They remembered Jack/Doctor well enough but I don't ship Jack/Doctor, I ship Jack/Doctor/Rose and want my OT3 validation.

- An idea I have for the character that I haven't written yet/won't ever write for whatever reason

I've have a couple Jack vid ideas (one that even got almost done but I never finalized and posted) and in spite of how much I hate the idea of Jack as the face of Boe I have worked out a (now very AU) way I could see that playing out between hm and the Doctor (and Rose) over the eons.

Hope you like the story once you get to it. I can understand not wanting to dilute your muses while doing battle to get them out...various mixed metaphors.


- Why I love them or why I wish they'd go die in a fire.

I confess I like Kat more as a...presence than as a character. I love her being on the show/involved in the plot because she brings a lot of energy and vigor to the story; but there are plenty of times when I feel she absolutely deserves to die in a fire within the story itself.

- My OTP for the character

Katherine/herself mainly, and within that Katherine/whoever she chooses (to a point); basically I can pair Kat with a bunch of people depending on my mood, though I don't really OTP her with anyone. Maybe Kat/Damon but even that isn't quite OTP.

- My favorite gen relationship with this character.

Kat-Elena, and I'm always up for Tatia joining them.

- An unpopular opinion about this character.

I think my general attitude towards her in question 1 is already a fairly unpopular round of opinions. The fact that I like Elena (at least Elena before she became a doll and prop) more than Katherine seems a less than common opinion too.

- One thing I wish would [have] happen[ed] with this character in canon.

I wish we had seen the way the Kat/Elijah relationship developed. Even if the show wants to push the idea that this is real and not them using each other and projecting feelings for others onto each other, we still needed to see it happen. Granted I wish it hadn't happened (or really anything of Kat in s4...so throwing it out would be good for both doppelgangers) more than I wish we knew how it happened, but I'll settle for some answers if I have to...well, if those answers actually make sense.

I have good intentions of writing Kat and Elena road trip adventures one of these day, or possibly some straight up Kat/Elena adventures. But clearly I haven't yet.
