Which TVD character would make the best companion to the Doctor?

I'm leaning towards Bonnie, although my eternal desire to get Elena out of all this mess makes me want to say her (but only season 1-3 Elena as a) I think the Doctor would have a problem having a vampire companion and b) s4 isn't really Elena anyway anymore). Actually if I could get my head around having a vampire companion I might say Rebekah because I think that would be a really interesting combination.

Yes the idea of Ten and Elijah as suit buying buddies has appeal but I don't see them working as a companion relationship.
