Five scenarios where Phil Coulson decided that he wouldn’t just accept his impending death. And one where he didn’t get to choose.
(Set post season 5, all Philinda, partially Infinity War compliant, entirely unconnected possibilities for something to happen in Tahiti that would convince Coulson he wasn’t ready to die after all.)
Warnings: Spoilers for AoS s5 and Infinity War; Infinity War sometimes happens and so losses expected in those sections. Themes of death, illness, and loss. Non-graphic sex

When I Started: Well, it would have been post AoS s5 and IW, so summer 2018
How I Lost My Shit: I got the story out but I knew it wasn’t good enough to post, unfortunately I didn’t have a beta reader at the time to help me get it into shape so it stayed in my drafts folder for a while and I eventually forgot about it
How I Finished My Shit: Unfortunately, this wasn’t the fic I had wanted to get done for this year’s WIPBB, but fortunately the challenge gave me the chance to pull this out of mothballs and finally get it ready to share. It took enough editing that I’m glad I didn’t try and do it on my own, but I think I’m happy with the final form.
