Elena becoming a vamp and them picking the worst of both worlds by keeping Klaus around in Tyler's body (they didn't have the guts to kill Klaus, but JM was just about the only thing that made Klaus likable).
I'm working on a way to get out of the first and justify the second by having Klaus able to keep Elena human and you know he'd want to do it.
Then there's the Triangle (always the Triangle) issues and the underuse of Elijah.
Aw, I loved Elena becoming a vampire. I can't see Klaus in Tyler's body lasting more than one or two episodes (honestly I think it'll only be one). Joseph Morgan will be back.
I'm not optimistic about seeing more of Elijah, but at least I have fewer expectations?
I try and console myself with the silver lining in Elena becoming a vampire, i.e now my shipping choices are so much easier since Alaric's dead and Elena/Matt was mostly an extension of my preference for Elena/humanity, now I can just ship Elena/Elijah without any other ships vying for my attention.
But as much as I love shipping E/E, Elena/humanity (or Elena/college or Elena/normal life, however you want to put it) was always my real OTP. All I ever wanted was for Elena to get out of this damn mess and now she can't. Hopefully she can at least get out of the damn triangle.
I hope you're right about Klaus/JM, because I really don't like it the way it stands.
I just have little to no interest in seeing Elena as a vampire (largely because I have a bad feeling the show will make it all about the Triangle instead of Elena herself). I *am* kind of interested in how is shakes up the Original family though (ironic I know considering those other worries).
Klaus may be alive but he wanted Elena alive too, though he will understand he's just not exactly going to be happy. And Elijah was willing to go on the run for 50-60 years and leave his brother dessicated for a century for Elena's sake; if that's not proof that he loves her but had no intention of killing/turning her what is? He clearly *knew* what the most prudent course of action to save his family was, but he didn't do it. Even after Klaus was supposedly dead he told Rebekah they had to run (also, I seriously want to know what that call between Elena and Elijah that Rebekah mentioned covered, I feel jipped).
Basically Rebekah just managed to piss off everyone. Team Elena and most of Team Originals are not going to be happy.
But it all needs Elijah, and I don't have high hopes for that either.
It is tragic for Elena. I suppose I just always expected this to happen. Her life was never going to be normal, even if she did stay human.

Yes, I want to see all the off-screen Elijah/Elena conversations.
I do feel sorry for Rebekah. She made the right call to protect her family, but no one's going to be pleased with her except possibly Kol.
I may or may not be trying to write a version of what their conversation might have been. But as with most of my thing I end up wanting to do more with it than just what I start out planning for (aka, well Rebekah obviously knew about it so did she listen in? Given this talk how to I figure their next one will go? etc.). I haven't even finished the initial part and I think there will end up being more.
If I'm admitting to it...
Kol will only be mad he didn't get to do it. And Klaus doesn't have a leg to stand on considering that he was going to kill Elena for exactly the same reason the previous episode (he'll still be pissy about it though). Elijah's a little harder to predict but I really want to see him deal with it.
But I figure Elena has to have been turned with either Rebekah's blood or someone in her bloodline, because otherwise Team Elena has a new enemy number 1. Although the more I think about it the more I feel like they aren't going to end up with vampire Elena when all is said and done somehow, because they kept Klaus around and I'm not sure what use that is if Elena's a vampire. Not that I'm getting my hopes up at the moment.

I don't think Rebekah necessarily turned Elena. I don't even think she'll be new enemy number one, at least not for long. Yes, she killed Elena, but it was for a very understandable reason, and Elena survived as a vampire anyway. I hope her brothers will protect her.
