TVD books bwah?

jedi_of_urthOkay, so I went to the library today and figured I might as well check out some more of the Vampire Diaries books since I was there anyway. (I haven't gotten very far in The Struggle yet actually, but that's mostly because I still have to stop and remind myself of things like: "They don't mean MY Katherine is weak and soft," "It's okay, MY Salvatores totally love each other," etc.)
Anyway, I don't know if the library didn't have them last time I was looking or if I just didn't notice, but it turns out there's a series of Stefan's Diaries. And reading the back I discovered these ones are BASED ON THE SHOW. This weirds me out; books based on a show that was originally based on a book series. They're probably going to be totally fanficy aren't they? But I also kind of can't resist the idea of reading it NOW, for MY Stefan, MY Damon, MY Katherine, probably some Lexi, the Founding Families, Bennett witches, and everything I love about the Civil War era flashbacks. (And is it too much to hope for some Originals? They were hunting Katherine after all.)
I guess I'll see what I feel like reading first...
