Okay, so I think I finally have my voice back and can call this blasted cold over with. Okay, so voice is 100% back to normal yet, but it's at about 80-90% which after so long without feels like it could be all there.

Anyway, I thought I would pull up an old shipping meme because I like those so much.

Name a fandom and I will give you my top three pairings and a little reason why.

Okay, Doctor Who and pairings and me. Be warned, I'm not watching season 5 yet so if anything there is all that interesting, it's not listed here.

Doctor/Rose, obviously. To me this is THE ship of Doctor Who, I can take or leave anything else (and leave a lot of it), but Doctor/Rose is one of my all time OTPs. The reasons why, well besides having been expounded on at length in my journal over the last few years, they *are* the show to me, the two characters and their relationship to each other. It's a magical love story that still lives on in my heart (and plenty of fandom)


After that things get more muddled for my other ships, for one because it's a long step down to anything else and just nothing else excites me that way, but for the moment the runners up are:

Doctor/Rose/Jack: yeah I'm listing my OTP on the OT3 for option two, you want to make something of it? All three of them are great characters and have great relationships with each other, and ultimately Jack understands that he's a third wheel no matter how much he loves both of them so it's still basically my OTP.

Mickey/Jake: I know this is basically a cheep way give Mickey a happy ending in Doctor/Rose fics, but I still enjoy it. Because I think it makes a certain amount of sense, which is partly why everyone just accepts it and goes on as a background ship.

(I couldn't decide between Jack/Donna and Jack/Sarah Jane so neither of them got listed, but I think both would be awesome even if the show never did anything with either.)

I'm a huge fan of Nine/Rose, and I wish Nine had lasted more than one season. As for Ten/Rose...not so much. But we have agreed to disagree on that pairing, so I'm going to shut up now.

Again, Nine/Rose/Jack works for me. Yes, Jack would be a third wheel, and he'd probably bu slightly annoyed about it, but accept it and enjoy all the lovin'.

Mickey/Jake - YES. I love this ship, and wish more people would write it.

And I can totally shop Jack/Donna as well, based on their interactions in Journey's End. Donna was all "GIVE ME A HUG, SEXY!" and Jack didn't know what to think about it. Pure win.

As for Season 5, there has only been one pairing that had appealed to me, but I'm not going to say it because it's spoilery.

I'm pretty spoiled for season 5, but I kind of want to be so I know what I'm getting into if and when I decide to watch it. So far it sounds like I probably ought to give it a chance at some point but I don't feel the need to rush to watch it either.

I'm not crazy about the fact that Jack didn't seem all that into Donna, but it doesn't stop me from thinking they would be awesome together. But I'm also kind of heartbroken we never got any canon behind Jack/Sarah Jane.

If I ever get to writing my ideas of Doctor Who/SG1crossover Mickey/Jake is a decent part of it and I'd actually have the chance to do something with them. Mostly I just sort of write them as there, but in that one I have ideas for developing it further.

As much as I would have liked to see Nine/CE for longer, I think I have fallen harder for Ten/DT, I had longer to really get totally into him. So I really wouldn't trade him in spite of my fondness for Nine.

How about... SG-1?

I'll ignore the fact that my real SG1 OTP is Daniel/Rose, since it's not the reasons for that are all in my head and it's not like I have a shortage of ships I enjoy that actually exist in the same canon for this show.

Daniel/Sha're: What can I say, I'm a sucker for stories about couples trying to be reunited against impossible odds. As little as we ever see them together, I never doubted that she was his motivation for the first few seasons or that he was totally in love with her. And being a Daniel fan, I'm inclined to like the ship that makes him so woobie-y.

Sam/Janet: Somewhere along the line I realized that while I ship Sam with like everyone possible to ship her with, the one I can actually see her being happy with is Janet. The two have a fantastic friendship that I think would really work as more than that.

Jack/Sam/Daniel: I ship every combination of the three of them and really have a hard time ranking them relative to each other because it basically depends on what mood I'm in what I see the most. But the three of them are pretty much the core of the show (sorry Teal'c but I have a lot harder time getting into your head) and I can see how any of the three options of the trio could work.
