So, apparently 'Water's of Mars' snook up me and it's airing...today...on one side of the pond or another at this point. I've also been putting off watching TSJA so far this year (not sure why just...savoring and extending the time before I have seen it I guess). I did the same thing with CoE and finally watched it what a month after it aired? And that was a show that aired in a week.
In any case, apparently there's new DW to be had soon and...it's reminding me that I just don't care that much anymore. I think I need to rewatch the show, or at least get back into vidding it or something because right now I'm feeling towards these last few specials the way I did for the end of Harry Potter, that no matter what the story is coming up it's just there and I'm not *really* looking forward to it.
This, I'm sure is a consequence of *knowing* I'm going to stop when Moffat takes over. If I was at all looking forward to season 5 then I'd be more excited to see what the special would do with DT's last episodes and how things would be going forward. But there *is no* going forward aspect to me, it's about the coming of the END. And these are already in epilogue stage, about how Ten goes when every other story line pretty much left in JE (some don't have to be permanently ended but all of them could be considered over (as far as DW goes)).
Granted I've been steadily dropping out of love with the show ever since JE always at least partly for those same reasons, but having this year to say goodbye to Ten/DT/RTD and Co means that I can measure my drop in interest with each special. Not necessarily because the specials haven't been great (although I haven't been crazy about either it must be said) but because instead of JE being the finale for me and DW when my love for the show, though confused was still pretty high, I've been downshifting as the year has passed.
I'm not sure which would have been more depressing in the end.
