jedi_of_urthOkay, finished up HIMYM season 2 and that means another reaction post.
I'm still quite enjoying this show, it's funny and just fun. I think the fannish gears are starting to spin, though not fully on yet.
I think I can say that Ted and Robin are my favorite characters. Marshall and Lily or adorable and I love them, but not the way I love Ted and Robin. And Barney is...a good extra flavor. Barney causes mixed feelings in me because he is fun and is fairly cool to watch even but he's just not my type of character; but the show wouldn't be the same without him.
As expected I'm saddened by the Ted/Robin breakup. Sure it was well handled and reasonable and well set up and in character, and rather inevitable, but that doesn't mean I'm happy about it. They weren't perfect together, and it was always going to end for pretty much the reasons it did, but they just worked for me anyway.
Even after two seasons I'm still not sure how I feel about the voice overs. They don't add all that much usually and they're not all that interesting most of the time, but sometimes they're good and they do serve the purpose of reminding viewers that this is being told in flashback. Still, iffy.

Date: 2009-03-21 06:03 am (UTC)I love Robin the best. I have to admit I'm not the biggest Ted fan, but he doesn't annoy me quite as much as when I started watching.
I know what you mean about Barney. I only started to love him in S4, but he really was SUCH a stereotype in the earlier seasons.

I don't usually like VO, but I do like that Ted can be an unreliable narrator, so you don't really know whether or not to trust some of the hints he drops.
