First off, part 1 was better. This is often the case with BSG two parters but it was very true here. Also, there was no smooching, I believe I demanded more smooching.
Now the big one, my poor boy Felix Gaeta. The fact that he was right about everything gets lost because he teamed up with Zarek. He failed to see that he and Tom were serving different purposes until it was too late. I don't feel sorry for Tom, what he did he did for poorly realized selfish purposes; but Felix was honestly doing what he thought was right and good for humanity. I couldn't even cry at the end, it hurt too much.
And worse, these episodes didn't actually resolve anything except to serve as a reminder that going against Adama gets you killed. If I could even believe that Bill's eyes were opened to how damaging this situation was to the fleet I'd feel better, but I don't think he did. That one marine, hell Lee last week, tried to tell him, people hate the cylons and forgiveness isn't going to come because the mighty Adama ordered it. And all those feelings are still there, as well as Adama's blind spot to it. Again, the reasons get lost because Zarek happened to be the one to tap into them and use them for his own goals.
I'm curious who the PTB want us to root for in this situation, because I was rooting for Gaeta. Bill needed to be brought down a few pegs and Laura needed to get her butt in gear and either be the president or let someone else fill the gap. But I'm not sure either of these things happened.
At least Lee and Kara got to be awesome, and Sam might have managed to not die (actually I kind of wish he had, not to serve the Lee/Kara ship (which admittedly it would, and so close after Dee's death would stink of it) but so that someone known and cared for died in the rebellion just sort of because)
