jedi_of_urthJust had a slightly cracky idea about Doctor Who:
So if we never get an explanation for why Queen Elizabeth hated the Doctor so much (and must have known him as Ten since she recognized him, here's some random hypothesizing.
It was Ten II and Rose that somehow got under her skin (probably by being disgracefully cute).
If we assume that Doctor Who is operating on the theory of infinite universes split off by all the decisions people make (used in Doomsday, less so at other times) then there must be a point where Pete's World split off from the Doctor's, may have been a long time or short, and any time before that is the same for both. And since QE1's reign was quite some time ago now and Pete's World isn't *that* different from the Doctor's it's reasonable to suspect that QE1's time was before the split so the adventures of Ten II, Rose, and TARDIS Jr. could take them there and make history for both universes.
I love causality stories usually.
Or, even wilder, could manage to be Ten I, Ten II, and Rose which would surely give the Queen a headache anyway (and cute but angsty overload). But that would mean an actual explanation in the continuing Doctor Who adventures of Ten I rather than me fanwanking how to explain why we might not get the reason.
