Quick thoughts on Torchwood 2x03

I *think* I liked that, I'm not 100% sure though. I think the shiny and new factor is wearing off Torchwood for the season, and while they still are by and large doing better than last year I'm not quite as easily taken in as I was with the first couple episodes.
This seemed like a better way to handle the character focus episodes than most of the previous attempts, because the adventure plot was still team focused, Tosh just got the character side of the story, and it is important to tell the character side of the story so I don't really object. I just worry after the failures of last season that if they reuse this pattern they'll wind up back there.
A few random thoughts that I thought of while watching:
-Hey that's the pier they used in the Sarah Jane Adventures, the one where the girl died, except they pretended they weren't in Cardiff then.
-Crumpled paper, more visual than a ball of timey whimey stuff explanation.
-Quick, heterosexual kissing, best throw in some Jack/Ianto.
I don't have any real thoughts to add, maybe later, but my mind isn't really on the subject tonight.
