The meme goes like this:
Comment to this entry, and I'll reply with five questions. You answer them, and then leave a comment here with a link, so I can be sure I don't miss them!

I have several possible questioners and I'll add to this as I get questions.

1. What relationship do you want to see on Torchwood in S2 or do you want any relationships? (You're going to get them regardless)

I personally have a soft spot for Jack/Tosh though I’m not sure I actually want to see it happen because I’m not sure it would work well onscreen. Beyond that, if they’re going to play with Jack/Ianto I want them to do it well, because while I can appreciate it on a “Yay, pretty boy kissing,” level I’d rather see more development. I *thought* Jack/Martha would be fun but now I’m pretty sure I don’t want it. Funny enough for all by Spike-hate-and-JM-apathy, I think most John ships could be interesting if only because that’s pretty much the purest TW crack we’ve been given.

2. Torchwood: Competent or not? If competent, who would you pick for your partner and who would you pass on. (This is not wank bait)

Moderately-competent. Yes they’re a bunch of apes poking at a rocket ship and as likely to blow themselves up as go anywhere but that makes sense. They’re screw-ups personally but for what Torchwood deals with and the resources they were apparently left with after most of the organization was lost in Doomsday they do a decent job I guess.

Well obviously I’d take Jack, and Tosh. Owen is useful to have around sometimes but I’m not sure I’d want to deal with him.

3. If you could have anything in Doctor Who S4 (that would be relatively within canon) what would it be? Note: Timebabiez and weddingz are not canon *scratches head* I don't think... although there was that line...

Are you sure it’s not possible? Because I’m pretty sure my want for a happily ever after ending is a matter of record a lot of places.

Alright, forgoing that. I want the Doctor to have some fun even though he still misses Rose, yes both could coexist. But I want the writers to acknowledge the depths he sunk to in S3 and have him come back from it over time rather than saying he’s all better now. I want Donna to have a reasonable character arc that never involves worshipping the Doctor and in fact knocks him off his god-pedestal s few notches. I want Martha to be over her infatuation with the Doctor and to have grown from her experiences.

And I want Rose back, since we’re getting that I want many things with it. I want an emotional reunion to make me cry and squee at the same time. I want there to not be cat-fights among the companions. I want a Rose/Jack reunion. I want Rose to STAY because there’s no reason to have her choose to leave and having it be unwilling makes it Doomsday 2 and I cry enough at Doomsday 1.

And I want them to live happily ever after.

4. You don't list your age in your profile. On purpose?

Partially on purpose, partially just, as you might notice, my profile is a little underdone. I think I had a reason but now I can’t remember what it was off the top of my head (although I’m also okay with people not knowing easily knowing how old I am). I’m 24 by the way.

5. Why do you hate Spike? (I didn't watch Buffy enough so you'll have to keep your answer high level)

My Spike-hate is kind of a funny thing somewhat sensical and somewhat not based on when I started watching “Buffy.” I was late to start watching in season 6, but reruns were easy to come by (in those days before I discovered…other means), and starting with S6 in many ways I *should* like Spike but also in that portion of the story he was associated with being a Very Bad Thing for Buffy and I have this (sometimes apparently unusual for fandom) thing where I want what’s best for the characters, I want them to grow and become better people and be happy and so Spike the Very Bad Thing was not something I wanted around.

Also, on both “Buffy” and “Angel” the addition of Spike to the existing team (as opposed to when he was a bad guy early on) always seemed to correspond to a drop in show quality, whether it was because of the character or not.

1. Do you find vidding or fic-writing more personally fulfilling and why?

Hmm, I’ve got different reasons for each now that I think about it.

With viding I have the satisfaction of getting things done, it’s a big of a problem to be solved, particularly when working with limited resources the way I do. I both enjoy it creatively and have a sense of when something is “right” and “wrong” which satisfies my need for correctness and problem solving side.

Writing on the other hand, the reason I so rarely finish anything is that it’s grand and epic in scale and I can’t ever call anything “done.” I get to create whole intricate plots and delve into character interactions (one of these days I’ll do something that goes outside of fanfic, but establishing characters and settings isn’t something I’m good at, playing with established ones I do better, this has also been a factor in roleplaying games sometimes).

I will say that viding I end up less frustrated in myself because the problems come from lack of footage/lack of WMM capability/whatever, with fic-writing my problems are my own inability to put my plots into external word form.

2. Is editing (as in like film/television editing) something you would want to do professionally?

It’s not something I’ve ever considered (although maybe I should remember that I do quite enjoy it). In fact even back in high school I had a couple of projects that involved video editing that I remember well. Of course, like many things I have no idea how to put my fun side enjoyments into anything I could do professionally.

3. What do you love best about living in Colorado?

Well, besides the fact that I’ve lived here most of my life and it’s where my immediate family is, several of my friends, and not too far from my grandparents, etc. I do enjoy the lack of humidity weather wise which means that even though the summer days are hot at night it’s fairly cool, and weather patterns don’t get stuck, so winter is a freeze/snow and thaw pattern. Keeps life interesting.

4. Who would you like to see cast as Eleven?

Well…let’s think of British actors I can name…hmmm. As much as I drool over Richard Armitage, I’m not sure I could see him as the Doctor, and John Simm seems like a bad idea, both kind of go for Anthony Head. Oh I have it (although not quite British I don’t think)…Viggo Mortensen

5. How long does it take you to make a video, and what is the most involved part of the process?

Once I start viding, 3-7 days usually, unless I hit a major snag (usually with WMM) and my creative process that was feeding that vid stalls completely or I find almost no snags in which case I can get done in 3-7 hours.

And while I’m not sure I’d call it the “most involved” part of the process since it’s actually kind of passive a lot of the time, but the most…time consuming part of the process is getting a vision of it in my head. I keep an ear out for songs that make me think of subjects, but I need to have an idea what I want to put in a vid beyond the vague association or a couple of lines that pull me into it. Going back to the correctness aspect discussed earlier, I need to go into it with some sense of what the “right” clips might be even though I know I’m likely to find better ones once I get into it. I’d call it story-boarding if I actually even made notes about it.

1. What flavor Pixie Stix is your go-to choice?

Red (it’s probably cherry right?). Yes in some ways I’m still five and think of these things in terms of the color.

2. John Thorton or Sir Guy of Gisborne?

Didn’t I just tell you the other day that this a hard choice for me? Okay, I’ll put my thinking cap on.

I think I’ll have to say Thorton by a bit because if only because one is somewhat less likely to end up dead around him and I do like me some uptight British men.

3. What is your favorite movie(s)?

I’m really not sure. Off the top of my head, the LotR series, Bend it Like Beckham, and The Princess Bride. That is subject to change depending on what comes to mind first at any given moment.

4. I've wondered for awhile now, where is your username from (LJ, I'm assuming TWoP is self-explanatory)?

TWoP was pretty straight forward, but I wanted something different for my lj/vidding name. If comes from two of my favorite of my roleplaying characters, one from the Star Wars universe who was a kind of sort of Jedi, and the other from a homemade game by my friends set on planet Urth. Trust me, if you ever want to know more details about either of these games/characters I’ll wind up talking your ear off because I still really like them.

5. What was your favorite toy when you were little?

I mostly played with stuffed animals, my sister and I had lots of games involving them (stuffed animal hide and seek could kill hours because we even had levels), plus obsessively giving each one a distinct personality and how they all related to each other.

1. I'm horrible about watching fanvids, even though I love them so. Which one (of yours) would you recommend for me to start with?

Well, you can always look over my vid master list but I guess I would say Words I Couldn’t Say and Angels, Lead Them Home as an introduction to my vids.

2. You've received a package in the mail- it's chibiDoc, whose come to live with you! What would you do first?

Squee because yay I just got a chibiDoc. Then cuddle and squee, because chibis look so cuddleable.

3. If you could have one crack idea made into a dream sequence for Doctor Who, what would it be?

I’m still rather partial to the idea of Doctor/Rose/Master/Lucy dinner parties, I think I’d even take it as a dream sequence if I can’t have it for reality. So yeah, cracky dinner parties.

4. Name one crossover you'd like to have happen (and DW/Torchwood doesn't count) and what would happen?

Doctor Who/Pushing Daisies. The TARDIS folks go to The Pie Hole, eat pie, the Doctor can fix it so Ned and Chuck can touch, and feels inspired to go get Rose (or if Rose is already back, much cuddling ensues, there is cuddling either way, just how down the road is it).

5. What your favorite moment in fandom (any fandom) in the last year or so?

Probably when OSK started doing weekly chats, I’ve gotten to know people a lot better through those than I had before and it’s just so much fun.

1) Why do you like Harry/Hermione?

I like Harry/Hermione because…they make sense. Truly, it started the first time I was reading OOTP and I just thought it was “obvious” that Hermione was into Harry and that he was at his best around her. R/Hr barely even occurred to me until I got into fandom, because I thought all the signs said H/Hr. They’re best friends who actually get along, they stand by each other through everything, they make each other…better. I could probably draw a lot of comparisons to Doctor/Rose in fact, I have a type of ship I enhoy and H/Hr fits it well.

2) How did you find out about Doctor Who?

I vaguely knew about it as a kid, never really watched it, but I knew it was one of the cheesy British sci-fi type shows I enjoyed (if you haven’t seen the old Hitchhiker’s Guide or Red Dwarf you should). And then I saw previews for Doctor Who on the Sci-Fi Channel and was bouncy with the idea of a chance to watch the show (knowing nothing about whether it was remake/reimagining/continuation/showing old episodes/whatever, I just wanted to see cheesy British sci-fi. Of course what I wound up with is nothing like I thought I’d see, but you know how I love it obviously.

3) What are your feelings on classic who?

It’s cheesy and…shallow. I don’t know why it inspires such a following to be honest. It’s fun and diverting, but it’s not *good* most of the time. I may be pissing off the few Old Schoolers I have around here, but I just don’t find it devotion inspiring. Fun, cheesy, a way to pass time, but I’ll take New Who any day.

4) What genre of fiction do you like best?

Now that is an interesting question, partly because I’m not reading much fic these days and partly because what I want to read at various times isn’t necessarily my favorite type. I’d say I think it’s probably where there a decent plot line running through, but is heavily informed by character feelings and relationships, and there is time for relationship/character development. I’m not sure I’m explaining it well.

5) What are your five favorite pairings?

Canon: Doctor/Rose, Sheridan/Delenn (B5), Lois/Clark (L&C version), Adama/Roslin (BSG), Niles/Daphne (Frasier)
Non-canon: Harry/Hermione, Buffy/Giles, Guy/Marian (Robin Hood), Clark/Chloe (Smallville), Xander/Willow

From [livejournal.com profile] starlightmoonla

1) The TARDIS has a reputation of holding any room that you can imagine. What one room ("canon" or of your making) would you like to see materialize on the show?

I want a zero-G room. Not the Zero Room exactly, because that had…situational gravity for lack of a better term, I want them to enjoy games from the Zero Gravity Olympics inside the TARDIS.

2) Do you think Ned/Chuck, Pushing Daisies will ever have their happily ever after?

I guess…sadly, no. That doesn’t really feel like the direction of the story so far. Loving someone in spite of all the weirdness, learning to deal with it, that’s great in a way and they could be happy with that, and I wouldn’t complain for the characters at a pixy-dust solution. But story-wise fixing the issues needs to come from somewhere and getting into that just doesn’t feel like the show at the moment.

3) What's your favorite time of year and why?

Spring, moderate temperatures (I’m no big fan of heat, prefer cold to hot, but a nice middle is good), the world starting to have some color again. Of course living in Colorado “spring” lasts about two weeks, then suddenly it’s summer and I get fussy until fall.

4)Would you rather travel in time or in space?

Space. I don’t feel over drawn to see the past (and I’m too much of a worrier that I’d mess things up), and while the future could be great or it could be depressing, but seeing other places out there sights and maybe other cultures, that’s a quicker appeal to me.

5)If you could live anywhere else in the world where would it be and why? Would it be similar to where you're living now or the opposite?

I think the Pacific Northwest if not sticking to someplace like Colorado. I mean, if I had a good reason to live in England I might take it but don’t know. I don’t really like big cities, crowds scare me, but the fringes of cities it okay.
