Great post! I've got the same hangups myself from years of TV-watching and being hit with all the formulas when portraying relationships onscreen. When you lay it all out like that, it's really easy to see just how different it's been from the stale old UST cliches. And you're right - they could have easily put a close to this relationship several times over, but haven't.
Even with all that, I still can't let myself completely trust. The cliches are too deeply ingrained in me, I think.
