I don't remember disliking Martha all that much in this episode, if fact I still don't really dislike her here, but even within the episode she doesn't have consistent characterization.
And the Doctor always misses Rose, but he doesn't know how to express it, especially with Martha around. Doesn't mean her presence ever goes away.
