small DW thoughts

I have so many thoughts for Doctor Who meta points that I seem not to get them in order very often (much like my fics) but here’s a thought that’s been knocking at me for a bit and it’s small so I can do it quickly.
It seems to me that after Doomsday the Doctor got a bit of a lesson in telling people at least part of how he feels about them, when he failed to say the one thing he knows he should have said to Rose in the end.
So over the course of the season, he makes sure to tell Martha the he appreciates her, thanks her when she does wonderful things for him or for the world (he seldom thanked Rose in words, he did in ‘Rose’ but I’m hard pressed to think of another time). In the end he makes sure Jack knows he wants him to come along even after Jack starts to head back to Torchwood. He’s still not good at expressing his feelings, but he does make a point of some of the big ones, not just counting on “They know.”
See, short and to the point, and possibly not all that well thought out.
