"Saving Hope" pilot

Let’s be honest, I’m watching this thing at all because it has Michael Shanks and Daniel Gillies in it. It’s Daniel Jackson and Elijah, this is relevant to my interests.
As such you’re getting the shallow report first: Michael Shanks is still every bit as pretty as ever, in fact if anything he may keep getting even prettier; but Gillies...isn’t quite as attractive when not being Elijah. Still a good looking pair of male leads. Look, medical shows aren’t my thing. I waffle on how much I like Scrubs even and that’s a hospital based sitcom. Outside the man meat factor this one does at least have a bit of pseudo-supernatural stuff going on.
Which makes it all the more fun to make jokes about it being Daniel and Elijah in some weird alternate reality. Like how OF COURSE “Daniel” “died” and is existing on another plane of existence (it’s a thing he does after all, he’ll get better). And it kind of amuses me to think Elijah has this weird alternate identity where he takes off the suits, changes his accent, and compelled himself into a hospital job. If they ever have an issue with blood bags going missing I’m going to laugh my ass off.
(Of course that took a turn for the not so funny when the PTST guy was like “Have you ever had anyone die for you?” and I was like, “...(sadface).”)
On that note I was hoping (I suspected futilely, but I was hoping) that the DG clips would be able to be used as Elijah for vids, but it looks like I was right not to have my hopes too high. If I’m going to be super silver lining about it I can sit back and enjoy the pretty without being on the lookout for clips I can splice in.
The rest of the show...has some potential. It doesn’t look that great (no wait, it LOOKS great, hence the shallow report) but it’s not bad. Since I was tuning in for shallow reasons I wasn’t disappointed, I got plenty of what I was after after all :).
