So, then I watched part 2
Well, that was a *little* better than part one, and River’s growing on me I have to admit. And Amy still isn’t growing on me that much unfortunately. It did get rid of the frowny-brow a few times though. So I’ll give this one a C I guess, but it’s like a low C without being quite low enough to be a C-.
I do like that Eleven is such a dad character, Ten couldn’t even quite pull that off with Jenny so it’s a good change of pace.
Armed church folk still scare me, I can’t tell if that was intentional or not but a military church is basically straight out of my BAD NEWS book. And I don’t think we really knew any of the characters in it well enough for me to form an opinion beyond that.
This episode (both but mostly this one) had a really hard time balancing the over arching season plot with the episode plot. I’m all for big plots to tie things together but I have to say that so far this isn’t working out for me.
Also River, your spoilers are incredibly obvious sometimes.
I think I’m getting sleepy enough that I don’t have a ton of thoughts to point out or I just have the energy to come up with words for them. And I forgot in my previous post that I had more things to say of Victory of the Daleks anyway, so maybe I’ll just make another post some other time with thoughts I forgot to mention.
But for our necessary shippy thought. The Doctor, on let’s-pretend-it’s-not-Bad-Wolf-Bay, with a girl who doesn’t remember the Daleks, saying “Time can be rewritten.” Yeah I went there, and I see no reason not to have.
