1. Vidding - 50th Vid!

For those who don't know Star is the closest thing I have to a beta viewer, she puts up with my whining about WMM and musical interludes and offers plenty of encouragement. I often give her a glance at the first drafts of vids when I'm mostly just seeing all the glitches and timing issues that need to be cleaned up and she pretty much always loves them even then. Even when she doesn't understand what the vid is about (which happens more often as I move bits away from DW vidding).

But the encouragement is invaluable sometimes. I mean I keep finding more and more issues with my own work, and I can spot the obvious things usually myself. Often what I need is someone to remind me that I'm having fun and that's the important thing, and that I should have a more positive look at what I've done.

2. Babylon 5

One of the things I've been trying to talk you into watching (with some help from my vidding). Babylon 5 is a truly awesome show and has been an obsession of mine sine I was 12, it's held that long and still is great.

I should make more B5 vids, that'll get ya' (maybe).

3. The X-Files!

Oh X-Files, so frustrating and yet addictive you were and are. Both on a plot and shippy level. X-Files was in many ways my first fandom that operated a lot of the standard rules of TV (like never letting a couple, no matter how obvious their love for each other, express it; and never ever resolving plot points). As such it's also probably the first fandom I ever got kind of bitter with, because I was so used to B5 which made sense and had forward motion on plots and relationships.

Hmm, I seem to be holding on to some X-Files issues. Maybe I should rant or vid about that more.

4. Harry/Hermione

Canon shamanon, these two were so wonderful together and shared such a lovely love for each other, that there's always going to be room to make it work for anyone who wants to. JKR obviously didn't like the fact that people went there with the pairing so she felt the need to throw in the sister comment in the last book; but really in character I just put it down to Harry having no idea what sibling affection is like.

I've never been as active in HP fandom as some of my others, because there just didn't seem like that fandom was willing to let different camps exist on their own (we go through phases of that in DW fandom I admit) so it wasn't a place to stick one's neck out I felt. Doesn't mean I didn't have plenty of opinions on it, I just didn't dare enough to venture them too often.

5. Colorado

Yep, that's where I live, have most of my life (pretty much all of it I can remember). With out mountains, funky weather patterns, and ability to have snow and sun at the same time (we don't today, but it happens).

That and the fact that I was like the only one in the OSK chat a couple of years ago rooting for the Rockies in the World Series. Only sport I care about really, and they're "my team" so my Colorado side was showing.
