In your own space, brag about yourself. Tell us what things you've done that you're proud of; the things that make you the wonderful person you are. Leave a comment in this post saying you did it. Include a link to your post if you feel comfortable doing so.
(There probably is an interpretation of this prompt that didn't have to be fandom related, but it went on to talk about fannish things, so that's also where my mind went.)
I will recommend my ongoing review project over at
tori_reviews. I'm just getting going on Star Wars: The Clone Wars, but there's also a back catalog of other fandoms, often with more detailed takes that Clone Wars (hee, I had that abbreviated CW but thought that might be confusing since I have reviewed some CW shows before) is getting so far, but it's just starting and I could easily develop more to discuss as it goes. I'd say my Agents of SHIELD reviews have a lot of thoughts in them if you're interested.
And for reccing my own creative work, I'll pick a few of my favorites, but you can look through the whole list of fic and vids if you're so inclined. I'm not going to rec any vids since it's been a long time since I went through them and don't have strong feelings about most anymore; though if you check them out I'd steer towards the later ones, the early ones are pretty rough unless you find you really like my style, especially the attempt at conversation between lyrics and video; it's there in the early ones, but the editing is rougher.
Fic
Well, I would probably recommend any of my longer projects to anyone interested in the fandoms.
Taking Chances: a quick read since I used the
1sentence prompt style, and it's a crossover I haven't seen anyone else do. It treats the Stargate universe as existing in the Pete's World of Doctor Who; so Rose, Mickey, and Jake form a Torchwood team that works with the SGC, mainly to satisfy my Rose/Daniel shipping feelings.
The Final Testament of Sir Guy of Gisborne: I would call it my magnum opus, but that might imply I had actually finished it; as is, it's kind of Book 1 without Book 2-?. But in terms of creating a backstory for Guy of Gisborne, it's something I'm still rather proud of. It's probably also one of the least fanficy, almost just historical fiction, things I've written. Also that I ran a relatively successful big bang in which I wrote this.
Though Memory Imperfect: is everyone allowed a Human Nature/Family of Blood rewrite? Considering the show itself was a reworking of a book, I think we're all allowed our own takes, and this is mine. And I'm quite fond of it and of Doctor-as-John-Smith/Anne-who-is-Rose-with-amnesia; plus I've been told I did a good job with Martha in this one and I'm sort of proud of that because it was work to not just write her off.
As something of a midpoint between longer works and one-offs. I would as a one-off recommend To Weather the Storm with the option to continue the To Find a Light in Darkness series (The Vampire Diaries, Elena/Elijah). The first part was conceived as a stand-alone and probably stands as the best because of that. It's smut with some plot and loads and loads of feelings.
I have a couple other
1sentence stories; Captains Touch (Legends of Tomorrow, Rip/Sara) and Can't Compete with Yesterday (Agents of SHIELD, May/Coulson) both of which were part or all spec fics at the time and aren't very canon at this point, but they're a quick read and look into how I saw certain points going down. Along with Some New Horizon, a TVD/Castle crossover that I enjoy. Really, it's just a style I keep coming back to because it's a good way to keep from rambling (just one run-on sentence per idea instead paragraphs) and kind of serves as an outline of a more traditional fic.
While I have a lot of Doctor Who fic, the only one I'm going to recommend (aside from the long one above) is Once Upon Some Red Tape which is quite a fun Doctor/Rose adventure in fairy tale world. Although, glancing over it again, damn did this need a more thorough edit.
I'm relatively okay with most of my TVD fic, I think I'll recommend The Road and the Radio about Eljah and Rebekah (with some comments on Elijah/doppelgangers). I think it was probably the last thing I wrote in that fandom so, maybe that's why it seems the best.
And maybe the crack fic Afterlife Theater, which is my reaction to the Robin Hood finale, but in silly fic-ish terms because there emotions to process and that felt like the way to go.
