A few shortened reactions
Since I can't seem to work up the inclination to do all my usual reaction posts, here's a few of them all at once.
Red Dwarf - Back to Earth
I didn't think this started off that well, but it might have just been too long since I watched RD that it took a bit to get back into it. But by the end I was really enjoying it, whichever reason that relates to.
I really don't have much to say on this one
Robin Hood 3x03 - Lost in Translation
Surprisingly enough I rather enjoyed that one in spite of the lack of Guy. It ad a relatively well done plot and was a different style than RH often is, which worked. I missed Guy some, but not overpoweringly; still they better be planning to do something awesome to justify the absence.
I think I liked Kate better except for rejecting poor Much, and I know I liked Tuck more than last week, I suspect Tuck and I are never going to be on great terms but he wasn't bad here. Poor Much; good to see more Sheriff plotting; I only had a couple times when I was annoyed with Robin; I still think Vasey was my favorite part of the episode.
Heroes 3x23 - 1961
That's a strong contender for my favorite episode in a while. Team Bennet-Petrelli is always the best part of the story and this was ALL ABOUT THEM. Plus Mohinder but oh well. I'm sure there are some continuity problems but I didn't care so much this time.
I really hope they're going to kill of Sylar. He's too powerful to be interesting now, but one final showdown with the dream team while he's fulfilling his long foreshadowed/prophesied impersonation of Nathan messing with the world sounds good.
It wasn't Company Man great, but it was pretty good.
Doctor Who - Planet of the Dead
I still have every intention of doing a proper DW reaction post but short version, it was...okay. It wasn't a bad episode but it wasn't overly special feeling. Certainly not RTD's best work by a long way. The UNIT stuff was actually more interesting to me than the Doctor side of the story (not that I didn't love getting a dose of the Doctor obviously).
It all felt just a little off, like something wasn't quite...whole about it. But that could be part of the fact that it's pretty clear RTD writes better character arcs than he does single episode plots, but that's not a new revelation. But he's done better with even single episode character arcs before.
