Alright, so in spite of my f-list telling me that Keith Olbermann is awesome over the past few months I haven't really sought anything out, but [livejournal.com profile] cookie2697 posted this and I'm passing it on, because it covers much of how I feel about this.

In fact I do have a few friends who are gay, not that we've spent much time talking about gay rights (haven't talked to them in a while really) but I want them, and all those that I don't know personally, to have the same rights as anyone. The same right to love and be loved and express that love in the way everyone else is allowed to. I guess I feel, I hope, that we are a better people than the bigotry and narrow mindedness expressed by too many people represents us as.

I want to believe that.

This was a fantastic and touching special comment. He was practically choking up. Very powerful.

I'm so glad you posted this! I just watched it and he had me in tears. I've never been able to understand why so many people have such a problem with love, you know?

I'm going to have to make a post with this video for all my LJ friends who haven't seen it.

You know, he just said exactly how I feel. I don't understand why people can't see that this is EXACTLY like Civil Rights, Women's Rights, whatever. It's legalized prejudice! And it's HORRIBLE to see how the majority of our country doesn't get it.

There was a demonstration in Sacramento on Sunday - 5,000-10,000 people. I saw pictures. It looked amazing. I love that people are speaking out about this now.
