Fan season 5

So a few of us have been talking about a virtual Doctor WHo season 5, and I volunteered myself as producer because I am damn good at plotting stories but slop at writing them. We seem to have a few volunteers already but between writing, editing, possible artwork, what have you we could always use more people.

As a note to those interested, I have high aspirations for this. The only virtual season I've ever really followed was completely awesome so I think that's how things should be. This here? this was amazing and remains my standard for these things.

I guess I should get back to my producerly duty of figuring out new ways to torture the Doctor and make you cry.

I'd be interested in helping out with plotting if you need it. And possibly graphics should the need arise. I'm going to be rather busy so writing anything is going to be a bit of a stretch. I could take a stab if given plenty of prep time, but I couldn't make any promises.

Okay, I'm game. And looking over what you and [livejournal.com profile] mrv3000 have discussed, it sounds a lot more doable. I can write, if given a skeleton of a story. I can plot for others or I write when given sufficient prompts. I think if given a month to write with a solid outline of what plot points need to happen, I could most likely contribute, if you'll have me. Is there a particular place I need to sign up?

Of course, the plotting help/idea bouncing and graphics offer still stands, again if given enough time to put it together.

I'm tempted - I was involved in a virtual Stargate season years ago - but I also know how I get when it comes to writing.

I'm intrigued at the producer element to this because when I did it before, I (well, we, since I co-wrote it) got a one-off episode instead of it really tying to the overall season. We basically got free reign to do whatever we wanted.

But...if I was told "this needs to happen and then this needs to happen and then this needs to happen..." - basically given the structure of it and then told to go write it, I might actually be able to accomplish that.

*is still skittish about committing though*

What are you look at as far as a timetable?

When would you want to know by?

Hmm. You know, I'm probably going to pass on this for now. In a couple of days I'm going to be gone until September 7 or 8. And looking at [livejournal.com profile] sunnytyler001's post, looks like you've got a good-sized list of writers already. :)

How about I sniff you guys out after I get back and we can see what's what then? :)

Wow, a Moffat-less Series 5? I'd love to help out as much as I can - I can't promise cranking out scripts at any speed, but I'd be really interested to see where the fans would take the series from the platform we've been given now.

If you wanted to start before the Specials begin coming out and completely faffing everything up, you could always decree it to be Series 5 if the story then followed Ten II and Rose?

I'd be interested, but under one condition: I want to write a scary episode/arc to prove I can do better than Moffat. :P
