Oh, I like this one, it gives me a chance to think back on one of my odder little fandom forays.
The almost only time I ever got into a crossover/fusion canon was Stargate and Doctor Who because I was shipping Daniel Jackson/Rose Tyler. I even wrote a few pieces for it (see end of post). I had a whole alternate series in mind that I always intended to write a lot more for because I really liked it.
I was fusing Stargate into the Pete’s World setting from Doctor Who. I had aspects of that world’s history mapped out, especially what the Stargate characters were doing during the years of dealing with the aftermath of the Cybermen creation. The Stargate movie would have happened sometime during the gap in that world between ‘Age of Steel’ and ‘Doomsday,’ with governments jockeying for new technology after what happed with the Cybermen.
From there, I was lining up Doctor Who’s ‘Doomsday’ with about when Stargate series started. And the first two seasons of the series happened more or less the way the do in the show; with some changes for the politics that influence events at the SGC.
Then about the start of SG1-s3, some deal would allow Torchwood to send a team to work with the SGC; along with giving the Stargate program some of Torchwood’s knowledge about aliens and other dimensions. This team would obviously include Rose, and because it’s fic I’d send Mickey and Jake along because I didn’t have any OCs in mind.
One day Daniel comes by to get see if Torchwood has any knowledge about a new alien language they’ve found, and because Rose’s brain is still wired with TARDIS translation, she can just do it. This ends up being a reason for them to work together on other occasions, and getting to know each other, including the fact that they’re both looking for ways to do the seemingly impossible and return to people they love (Sha’re and the Doctor). That takes a bit of a hit after the dimension mirror research is scrapped. And then by the time Sha’re actually died, Daniel and Rose are at a not-quite-dating level, which makes him feel worse when Sha’re dies. But they eventually work it out and are actually dating not too long later.
I actually had some really interesting (to me) ways to reimagine how Rose (and to a lesser extend Mickey and Jake) would factor into plots from the show. A lot of them have to do with Rose still being the Bad Wolf, so any time the plots are messing around in time, or psychic effects, she has the ability to see through what’s happening. This actually gets a bit awkward since the fact that she’s not from this universe is supposed to be a secret a lot longer than it is, but the truth gradually comes out. It’s also a problem because the Bad Wolf energy in her becomes a factor in certain stories.
Because, behind the scenes, I had the Ancients from Stargate be a different evolutionary path from the Time Lords. Which means the Ancients don’t really like Rose, she has the wrong kind of energy in her; but Anubis can definitely think of things to do with her once he knows she exists.
While the Daniel/Rose shipping was very key to the fusion/AU, it wasn’t the only thing I was doing with it. But it does mean Daniel’s arc is quite different from how it was in canon. He did still die a lot however; because he’s Daniel Jackson and that’s what he does.
I knew I had it bad for this AU when, watching a canon episode, I thought, ‘well we know Daniel has a thing for blondes.’ And then had to catch myself that…no, actually he doesn’t, I’m thinking of Rose.

If I didn't have so many ideas I still want to do in my current fandom, I might well just say 'screw it I'm giving crossover world another chance.' Even just writing this up has kind of reminded me how much I had in mind for this world. A lot of it did come back to me. But I'd need a refresher on both fandoms before I felt comfortable trying to start with this again and then my brain is saturated with distracts from my current projects.
