More from the Buffy rewatch

So, as expected this part didn't take me that long to watch as most of the episodes are pretty good and I was looking forward to watching them again.

Not that I have a lot more to say on the subject, it just seemed a logical time to make a post about a few thoughts I may or may not actually mention.

I think this time around Passion was the highlight of the season for me. It varies at different times I've watched in the past, but this time it was definitely Passion. It's just an amazing episode. As good as Innocence and Becoming still are they didn't pack quite the punch they have in the past, but Passion still does.

It occurs to me that while I love the Angelus arc, I have one big hold up with it: as much as I empathize with Buffy, I don't really *get* all her reactions to it. No that's not quite it, maybe I'm just looking for a reason to explain the fact that, although brilliantly acted, I really don't like I Only Have Eyes For You. I'm sorry Buffy, I hate that you're hurting but I'm not feeling it there.

Right now I don't have a ton to say about characters and shipping. I think right now I love just about everyone on the show, and besides my continued inability to get into Buffy/Angel most shipping ideas would be fine with me. But as an observation, I think my Buffy/Giles tendencies flare up a fair bit more in the back half of the season than they did in the first half. Oh and Becoming will always put me in a Willow/Xander mood (somewhat guiltily since it's also great for Willow/Oz and Xander/Cordy, sometimes in the same scenes).

I'm not quite sure how to break season 3 up with any kind of equality, but I'll probably say something mid season, if not definitely at the end obviously. Catch you then

Hey, I'm rewatching Buffy right now, too! Along with Mark Watches. The community just started S3, but I'm actually starting S4, because I have a problem with stopping watching.

I'm actually a closet(ish) Buffy/Giles shipper, too, but I'm too afraid to talk about it in wider company. People have such STRONG negative reactions to it, and all I can say is "that's just what I FEEL." I actually only start shipping them in the later half of S3.

So, just, yay!
