FMM round 2

So here's my thoughts on the battles of FMM round 2.


Comedy

Winners I called: Liz, Leslie, Britta, Miranda
Upsets: Nick, Gus (but I’m okay with that), Mindy, Chloe

So basically every contest has one I called being here and one I didn’t; however all the ones I called are the ones I had called to win over the ones I thought they’d be against.

Contest: Liz Lemon (30 Rock) vs. Nick Miller (New Girl)
My Prediction: Liz fairly easily
My Pick/vote: Also Liz obviously
Comments: I don’t think this one will be too difficult for Liz

Contest: Gus (Psych) vs. Leslie Knope (Parks & Rec)
My Prediction: I still think Leslie takes it
My Pick/vote: But I’m with Gus (since I watch Psych)
Comments: I’m glad Gus made it past the first round, but I wouldn’t bet against Leslie here,

Contest: Britta Perry (Community) vs. Mindy Lahiri (The Mindy Project)
My Prediction: Still Britta
My Pick/vote: I guess I’m with Britta too
Comments: Even though Mindy advanced with a decisive victory I’m not betting on her to win any more.

Contest: Chloe (Don't Trust the B…) vs. Miranda (Miranda)
My Prediction: Miranda but with some challenge
My Pick/vote: Miranda obviously
Comments: Not much else


Teen

I called everything except Rae beating Artemis, I miss Artemis.

Contest: Katniss Everdeen (The Hunger Games) vs. Katara (Avatar)
My Prediction: I think Katniss takes it
My Pick/vote: HOW DO I CHOOSE? Maybe Katara just to show support but I’d have no problem backing Kaniss either
Comments: You know, I can’t call either of them Kat for short in this contest.

Contest: Scott McCall (Teen Wolf) vs. Dan Humphrey (Gossip Girl)
My Prediction: I’m still calling Dan to win
My Pick/vote: I should probably vote Dan for the GG lovers on my flist but I’ll hold off.
Comments: Only m-m competition in FMM this year? I think so

Contest: Tami Taylor (Friday Night Lights) vs. Rae Earl (My Mad Fat Diary)
My Prediction: I’ve picked Tami to win
My Pick/vote: Might as well go with Tami
Comments: Even though Rae is a surprise I think the FNL crowd has one more round in them.

Contest: Santana Lopez (Glee) vs, Hermione Granger (Harry Potter)
My Prediction: Hermione, and pretty easily done
My Pick/vote: Hermione since I’m not that fond of Santana
Comments: Nothing else really.


Sci-fi / Fantasy

I called all of these ones.

Contest: Olivia Dunham (Fringe) vs. Alisha Bailey (Misfits)
My Prediction: Olivia on the basis of Fringe being better known
My Pick/vote: I still have no stake here
Comments: May vote my bracket if not given any other arguments.

Contest: Annie Sawyer (Being Human) vs. Kara Thrace (Battlestar Galactica)
My Prediction: Kara pretty easily
My Pick/vote: Kara is the easy choice for me
Comments: Even if Kara still confuses me...

Contest: Jo Harvelle (Supernatural) vs. Sansa Stark (Game of Thrones)
My Prediction: Sansa pretty easily
My Pick/vote: Sansa because it’s my clear choice
Comments: I don’t even have any desire to watch SPN

Contest: Martha Jones (Doctor Who) vs. Natasha Romanoff (The Avengers)
My Prediction: For all DW is a huge fandom, I don’t think Martha can stop Black Widow
My Pick/vote: I think I’ll go with Natasha too
Comments: I probably like these ladies about evenly actually, but I have to work less to get there with Natasha


Drama

Winners I called: Joan, Mary, Parker, Kate
Upsets: Donna, Fiona, Alice, Skyler

Again I have one predicted vs. one not, but this time it does have repercussions on the net round of my bracket

Contest: Joan Watson (Elementary) vs. Donna Paulsen (Suits)
My Prediction: Joan takes this one
My Pick/vote: I’ll vote Joan again this time for my flist’s sake
Comments: In actuality I don’t have my own stake in this one (maybe a little thematically as Joan for Team Anti-Moffat, but that’s a stretch).

Contest: Fiona Gallagher (Shameless) vs. Mary Crawley (Downton Abbey)
My Prediction: I think Mary’s got this one in hand
My Pick/vote: Mary duh
Comments: Just...my vote is so obvious here

Contest: Parker (Leverage) vs. Alice Morgan (Luther)
My Prediction: I had Molly in it an debating Parker, but before I let the apparently size of Sherlock fandom get in my head and convince me of that I had Parker to win this fight and I still think so.
My Pick/vote: No opinion, not even bracket reasons
Comments: That’ll teach me to second guess my bracket guesses

Contest: Skyler White (Breaking Bad) vs. Kate Beckett (Castle)
My Prediction: I had Kate beating Kalinda here, strangely I’m less sure she can beat BB fandom, but I think she’ll eek it out
My Pick/vote: KATE BECKETT FOR QUEEN
