Sometimes I wish we had a bit more of a gradient in vocabulary when it comes to being in fandom for a thing. There are things that I relate to in my own way but have no inclination to talk about with anyone else unless maybe it happens to come up in another conversation. There are fandoms where I definitely still love them, or at least the memory of them, but could hardly call an active fandom interest. Some are sleeping giants that I know there will come a day when I fall and fall hard when I go back to them, but right now I don't have a present relationship to. There are plenty of things that I enjoy but don't have a lot to say about because I just enjoy them as they are without a lot of extra thought. There are all kinds of things that can be labeled 'fandom' but get confusing when you refer to them all the same way.

It's kind of like English and the word love; we could really stand to have a few different words for the different types of ways we love.
