This was a very cool read. I love the idea of having Elena's POV on all the originals.
I think it comes from the show so rarely allowing her to be properly pissed at people that I’ve internalized the idea that she can’t stay mad at people for very long unless they’re mad too, she’s too quick to forgive if someone wants to be forgiven.
SO TRUE. I think one of the ultimate examples of this is when she hugs Tyler almost immediately after he participated in a plot to kidnap her. The minute she sees that he's remorseful and had no idea that the werewolves wanted to kill her, she goes straight to him to administer one of her magical empathy hugs.
If someone is willing to meet her halfway, and she can understand where they're coming from, Elena goes for the peaceful option of compromise, forgiveness, and moving forward. Sometimes this aspect of her personality drives me nuts, but it's also one of my favorite things about her. Elena is my hero, basically.
