So now it's time for round 1. I didn't really post separate thoughts on the prelims so I just rolled them in with this.
Comedy
Contest: Liz Lemon (30 Rock) vs. Lana Kane (Archer)
My Prediction: I’m pretty sure Liz will win in a curb stomping because I don’t actually know anyone who watches Archer.
My Pick/vote: LIZ
Comments: Not surprised at all by the 30 Rock pick.
Contest: Shmidt (New Girl) vs. Lucille Bluth (Arrested Development)
My Prediction: Lucille because AD still has tons of fandom support, but NG will have newer more engaged fans
My Pick/vote: Lucille, because I’m one of those still holding on to AD
Comments: Not surprised by the AD pick (I think Lucille got it last year too), I’m always kind of amazed when it goes to her.
Contest: Robin Scherbatsky (How I Met Your Mother) vs. Laurie Keller (Cougar Town)
My Prediction: Robin, Laurie will get a fair number of votes too
My Pick/vote: Robin, because in spite of Abed telling me I should I still haven’t watch CT.
Comments: THANK YOU HIMYM FANDOM FOR NOT PICKING BARNEY THIS TIME, I actually ended up voting for her to help make sure of that.

My Prediction: Abed because fandom loves a guy who could be in it with us

Comments: (side eyes FMM for two characters of color going against each other in round 1). Well Abed was in my probables list for the Community nod, but I was completely off base with where The Office one would go.

My Prediction: It’ll be a close race, but I *think* Phil will get it on MF’s larger fandom

Comments: Neither of these fandoms really surprised me with their nomination, Gus I called and I didn’t really call anyone for MF in the prelims.

Comments: I think I’mm not the only one for who this is a race between Sheldon and Not-Sheldon. I even changed my prelim vote to Penny in the hopes he wouldn’t get the nomination.

Comments: I called Miranda in the prelims but that was really easy even without seeing the show, not seeing two shows this one is more of a guess.

Comments: Veronica Mars fandom continues to make correct choices for the nomination.

My Prediction: Caroline, probably in a landslide

Comments: You know, I think I should have known Twilight’s nomination would go to Alice over one of the dudes, because I get the impression both sides of the love triangle shippers agree love Alice. But this contest goes to Caroline because I feel like FMM players aren’t really Twilight fans.

My Prediction: Hermione easy
My Pick/vote: For right now Katara because she needs love too but I love them both
Comments: Avatar fandom ended up racing between the two girls instead of going to Zuko, that was a wise choice. But sadly Katara now has to face Hermione and that’s just not a fair fight.

Comments: CS actually had me vote for Peeta in the prelims, but I figure she’d want me to vote Katniss here, and since I have no opinion on either candidate that’s as good a reason as any. Also, I assume this is an archery competition here.

My Prediction: Scully easy

Comments: TXF fandom continues to stand behind Scully for this, go Scully

My Prediction: Donna, but Tony will at least put up a fight
My Pick/vote: Donna but I may feel like throwing Tony some love later
Comments: Well, DW fandom did wisely reject Eleven this year, and gave lots of love to the companions, BUT THEY STILL WON’T PICK MY PRECIOUS BABY ROSE so I feel less loyalty to it that you might think.
Contest: Dean Winchester (Supernatural) vs. Snow White (Once Upon a Time)
My Prediction: Dean
My Pick/vote: Snow (although if there was a way I could *only* vote Snow and less Mary-Margaret she’d have easily had my vote in the prelims too.
Comments: SPN fandom never surprises us, but I’m happy to stand behind Snow who I’m surprised walked away with the nomination.
Contest: Annie Sawyer (Being Human) vs. Kelly Bailey (Misfits)
My Prediction: Annie
My Pick/vote: Annie because I’ve watched at least some of BH
Comments: While I’m picking Annie it could easily go either way I’m sure.
Contest: Buffy Summers (Buffy the Vampire Slayer) vs. Sansa Stark (Game of Thrones)
My Prediction: It surprises even me, but I picked Sansa
My Pick/vote: Currently Sansa but I really don’t care (aside from it being good for my bracket if she wins)
Comments: This may have been the single hardest choice for me this round, because I love Buffy the character, but I love Game of Thrones the series more (my feelings on Sansa herself are...complicated). But Buffy fandom proved they would still support Buffy instead of picking Spike (DEATH TO SPIKE), and GoT fandom REALLY surprised me with this pick.

Comments: I think it’s an improvement that Watson got the nomination over Sherlock, but I’m not sure.

Comments: So a show everyone knows about but has been off the air for years vs. a currently airing show with kind of a niche but I think passionate fandom, should be interesting.
Contest: Temperance Brennan (Bones) vs. Emily Thorne (Revenge)
My Prediction: Emily
My Pick/vote: UP FOR GRABS (but more likely Revenge since I do want to watch it)
Comments: I mainly picked Emily because a) there was a lot of Revenge campaigning in the prelims and b) yes Bones has a larger longer term fandom, but I get the feeling a lot of them are actually not that invested in the show any more. I could easily be wrong.

My Prediction: Mary, because DA fandom seems CRAZY
