This is more my own bad habits on feedback, but I don't really like the feedback system on AO3. I'm not sure why, it's not that different from journal threads, but I feel a lot more self-conscious about leaving comments there than I did in the lj days. And there's a little part of my fandom-aging heart that misses e-mailing authors with feedback, I made a couple pretty good fandom buddies that way back in the day.
I think it probably has something to do with the pace of fandom activity these days; fandom culture in times past seemed a bit more understanding that it might take people time to come across and consume works. I think it ties in with fandom moving to twitter and tumblr where nothing stays in focus very long, and often isn't intended to. I haven't spent a lot of time revising this opinion though.
Or, you know, the fact that the rise of the AO3 era has somewhat tracked with me falling to the fringes of fandom (partly because I won't get into twitter or tumblr), so I feel like I've lost track of how to interact with people over fandom so I'm self-conscious about that.
And on Harry Potter, well how about some quick and dirty less that popular opinions. I'm still Harry/Hermione always. I don't give a damn about the Marauders. I give even less of a damn about JKR's politics.
