I wasn't really sure what you'd have to say about this video, because I know you have pretty similar issues to me with JE and that pretty much what this is about (I was tempted to also use my 'JE dealing' tag but decided not to). And maybe it did help with the dealing a little bit, in the sense that 'maybe I should pity the self destructive idiot rather than be mad at him.' But as has been the case since JE aired in my head I can say that but I can't sit and watch the episode again because the issues don't really go away.

As far as the song goes, yeah I was pretty much sitting listening to music a while back and went 'boy howdy, this song IS the Doctor' and what's more I don't think a lot of other people would have thought of it since the ven diagram of people who listen to country music and people who make fanvids doesn't overlap much. So I'm glad other people appreciate how fitting the song it.

Anyway, glad you liked it (and maybe your mom) and thanks for commenting.

Well, I had to watch it. You used a George Strait song. (And, like you said, the intersection of country music fans and Doctor Who fans is very, very small.) But… yeah.

I think you should do whatever you need to do to make peace with “Journey’s End.” I can’t feel sorry for Ten. He used up all of my pity in season three and four. But if you can, and it helps, go for it.

Of course, if you ever want to make an Eleven/Rose vid, I won’t complain. ;)

And since 90% of everything is crap, 90% of the few vids made to country music no doubt suck (I like most of mine but I seldom know for sure what other people's opinions are).

I've basically reached a point where I'm not angry at Ten over JE, but I'm still made at RTD for it. At first I wasn't sure which it was directed at, but considering my main problem is how underwritten the whole thing is I've settled on Rusty. Because in concept...I think it *kind of* works, but when I actually watch it, nope.

Hmm, I've sort of been on the lookout for an 11/Rose idea, but that would also probably mean I needed to watch season 5 to go with bits of SDoaCG and the Sally Lockhart shows (do you know if they're doing the third one? I haven't checked in a while so if I ever knew I've forgotten). And watching s5 hasn't been high on my priority list.

Well, this isn’t one of them. I don’t know enough about vidding to tell you much more than that, but to quote the motto of one of my favorite software companies, “It doesn’t suck.” :-)

You might not get much of a response to it, though. I think most Doctor/Rose shippers are only interested in seeing “Journey’s End” presented as the happy ending to the Doctor/Rose story. (And I can almost understand why they’d want that from fanvids. They certainly didn’t get it from RTD.) And, needless to say, most of the “Handlebars” crowd doesn’t ship Ten/Rose.

I’m not angry at Ten, either. In the end, he’s a fictional character. There’s no point in hating him for how he was written. I’m just… relieved that he’s gone. I can finally see DWM on a magazine rack without wanting to throw things.

Well, I can’t blame you for that. They do make an awfully cute couple, though.

I don't know why it's taken me so long to answer this, just laziness I guess.

-I'm glad 'It doesn't suck' at least :)

-I've gotten to the point where as long as I don't *watch" JE I can accept it as a...60% happy ending but watching it brings up all the issues again. It's woefully underwritten for as huge as it is, and I still view it as a betrayal of the story/character-arc I thought the show was going for. And I've never made up my mind if it helps that RTD seems to get that it's not great, that he knows it isn't really *right* but tried to fit the square peg in the round hole anyway.

A lot of fandom has...accepted what happened. Some of them accepted it quickly and really liked it, some have basically gotten glad that there's still *a* happy ending out there, which is a sentiment I can understand but can't quite find peace with. If I could it would probably a lot easier to let my JE issues rest.

-BP and MS have good chemistry in the Sally Lockhart movies (and plenty of useful footage from that one ep of SDoaCG) and I'm sure I'll still ship them since I ship Doctor/Rose not specific ones so much, so I would like to vid them, but I would probably need s5 footage to do it.

My resistance to watching s5 is wearing down though, partly for that reason. And I'm starting to feel kind of...uninformed in fandom these days. Plus, hey, I could always stop if I start really hating it.
