That is a good question. And I could think of several good answers, we'll see how many of them I feel like covering.

GitF I'd give to RTD. RTD isn't exactly against giving the Doctor other women to flirt with or get attached to, but he know where the Doctor's heart is and how to make the new person interesting, believable, and keep the Doctor in character while it happens. Also he knows how to write the companions and give them things to do and character arcs of their own within the story.

There would be a lot of things different I suspect. For one it would follow SR better. Also, like I said Rose and Mickey would have something to do besides get captured. The story would be much more emotionally honest because RTD can't not do that (looking at how he struggled with JE makes it clear how much he strives for that). We'd actually get insight into Rose's mindset during all this. If the Ten/Reinette subplot even happened it would have been more about them connecting emotionally rather than her invading his mind. And the story, while no doubt more crack addled, would probably have actually been effective.

School Reunion I would give to Paul Cornell. Currently there's too much plot sidetracking from the emotional turmoil of the episode I say.

While I'd trade out writers on DiM/EotD, 42, and maybe even Gridlock (sorry RTD that one wasn't a hit with me), I can't think of all the details yet. I don't think anyone could save SitL/FotD without them being completely different plots so that doesn't really hot your question. Might come back to all this later.
